Meizu launched its first smartphone under the Meizu 16 series in August 2018. The company recently launched the Snapdragon 855-powered Meizu 16s in China. Now, the company is rumored to launch a new high-end smartphone called Meizu 16xs. The Meizu M926Q which is now listed on TENAA is expected to be launched next month in China as Meizu 16xs. It comes with a curved glossy finish body and sports 2.5D curved glass on the front.
On the front, the Meizu 16xs sports a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2232 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Just like the other Meizu 16 smartphones, the upcoming 16xs also sports a notch-less display with minimal bezels at the top and bottom. Under the hood, the device comes powered by an unspecified octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. We expect the company to use Snapdragon 600 or 700 series chipset.
As per the TENAA listing, the device comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Since the lacks MicroSD card slot for storage expansion, we expect it to also come in 128GB storage variant. In the camera department, the Meizu 16xs sports 48MP + 8MP + 5MP triple camera setup on the rear and a 16MP selfie camera on the front. On the rear, it might feature an ultra-wide-angle sensor and a depth sensor on the rear. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie based Flyme OS out of the box.
It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and supports fast charging via USB Type-C port. As there is no rear-facing fingerprint scanner, the device might sport an in-display fingerprint scanner. It should also support face unlock using the front camera. The Meizu 16xs measures 152 × 74.4 × 8.35 mm and weighs 162 grams. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. As of now, there is not much information from the company. However, we can expect Meizu to launch this new smartphone only in June. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
