LG V40 ThinQ with 6.4-inch OLED Display & Five Cameras Launched

The LG V40 ThinQ has been in the rumors mills from the last few months. Today, the company has officially unveiled the device confirming the earlier leaked specifications. It comes with the glass sandwich design sporting metal frame with glass on the front and rear. The curved back glass is said to come with a matte finish and will not catch any fingerprints and stains. The standout feature of this device will be the five cameras, there are triple cameras on the rear and dual cameras on the front. We will soon know how these cameras will compete with the other flagship smartphones.
It comes with a 6.4-inch FullVision OLED display with Quad HD+ (3120 x 1440 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 385 CPU and Adreno 630 GPU. The device comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 flash storage. Also, there is a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 2TB. The LG V40 ThinQ is MIL-STD 810G certified for its durability and IP68 certified for the dust and water resistance.
Talking about the triple rear cameras, the device sports 12MP primary sensor with f/1.5 aperture, a 16MP super wide-angle sensor with f/1.9 aperture, and a 12MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture. While the super wide-angle sensor offers a 107-degree wide-angle view, the 12MP telephoto sensor offers 2x optical zoom. The camera app comes with advanced HDR, Cine Shot, 3D Light Effect, Makeup Pro, Custom Backdrop, My Avatar, AR Emoji, and AI features like Auto scene detection, AI Auto White Balance, AI Shutter, and more.
On the front, the device sports 8MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with LG UX on top and the company will soon roll out the latest Android 9.0 Pie update. It is backed by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging and wireless charging. The device comes with the rear-facing fingerprint sensor and includes face unlock feature. As seen on the LG G7 ThinQ, the new LG V40 ThinQ also offers 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and Boombox Speaker.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. It comes in New Aurora Black, New Platinum Gray, New Moroccan Blue, and Carmine Red color options. The LG V40 ThinQ goes on sale starting October 18th and will be retailing for $980 in the US.
