LG, the South Korean giant, has launched their new handset today at an event held in San Francisco. As expected the device sports Dual Displays and Dual-Rear cameras. It is also being touted as the first Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone since it would be running on the latest Android flavour out-of-the-box.

You may know earlier this year; the company unveiled their G5 smartphone, which is the first ever commercial Semi-modular smartphone. It also introduced the dual-rear camera setup for the first time on any LG handset. Following on the footsteps, LG V20 sports the dual setup.

Do make a note that LG V20 is the latest iteration in the V Series of handsets, which was started last year in October with V10. This year brand has now two flagship handsets. To clear any confusions you had about the difference between last year’s V Series handset as well as any similarities and dissimilarities between LG G5. Below we have compared the three LG flagship models to clear up all your confusions.

Design

LG has been known for implementing good design aesthetics on their handsets as well as known for innovating too. Sometimes experiments get good feedback sometimes they don’t. From the looks of it, the V20 seems to be packing design language of G5 and V10. As on the rear side, you can see the dual camera setup as well as the supposed metal body, which shines and looks like G5’s. While the dual screen setup on the top of the front side is the same setup as last year’s V Series iteration.

Display

Talking about the display, it’s the similar setup of 5.7-inch Quad HD screen with a tiny Second Screen on the top. The second display is for showing notifications or time, as well as you can show your signature or any text you’d like to be able to see all the time because of it’s Always-On nature. Whereas the LG G5 have a smaller 5.3-inch display, which is probably because of the semi-modular design. But it is also a Quad HD display.

Hardware

The hardware part between G5 and V20 is similar when we talk about the Chipset, as they both are powered by a Snapdragon 820 Processor, which is a Quad-core SoC. When we talk about the V10, it had a Hexa-core processor, which was still a better choice than Octa-core Snapdragon 810. Though, do make a note that the latest V20 sports a processor, which is quite powerful than V10’s. While the RAM support on all three handsets is standard at 4GB.

Software

When we talk about the software part, the UI experience on all devices is different when we talk about the out of the box situation. As the V10 comes with Android Lollipop 5.1, while LG G5 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The latest V20 would be available with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It would be apparently the first handset to come with the latest Android flavour.

Cameras

LG is usually known for offering one of the best smartphone cameras in the industry. We feel that over the years they have evolved to be one of the pioneers in the industry when we talk about camera setup. The G5 was one of the first handsets to introduce a setup of 16MP and 8MP dual modules on the rear side. With 8MP focusing on taking wide angle shots while 16MP is for the regular shots. Do make a note that this same setup is also announced for the LG V20, which is the latest offering from the company. While the V10 came with 16MP module on the rear. These devices seem to be coming with best camera setups according to their time.

Now you know the difference between all the three LG flagship smartphones. For most parts, it’s the similar specifications, while there are some differences we sorted out that clearly distinguish the devices apart.
