LG U Smartphone with 5.2″ FHD Display & 3000mAh Battery Launched

The South Korean smartphone manufacturer company, LG Mobiles has today launched a new smartphone in India in the x-series named as LG X Power and is priced at Rs. 15,990. It was earlier launched in the US by Boost Mobile & Sprint at a price tag of $130 and is now available for purchase via AmazonUS. Now, the company has unveiled a new smartphone which is based on Nexus design that is called as LG U and is exclusively available in its home country only via local operator LG U + from October 31st.

The LG U smartphone is priced at 396000 Korean Won (approx. Rs. 23,150 in India / $346 in the US). The Nexus series is no more in the future, but the LG company has used the same design of the Nexus 5X smartphone and released the LG U smartphone. Google has stopped the Nexus series and introduced a new series of pixel smartphones that are called as Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL that were launched recently. The LG U smartphone has the similar specifications of LG Nexus 5X smartphone.

It comes with a gloss unibody design that gives the luxurious feel and an excellent grip. The LG U smartphone features a 5.2-inch FHD IPS In-Cell touch display which has the resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It offers a pixel density of 423PPI and 16.M colors. Under the hood, it comes powered by an octa-core processor that clocks at 1.4GHz and unknown chipset, but we can expect to come with a Snapdragon 400 series. While on the Nexus 5X smartphone is powered by Hexa-core 1.8GHz processor and Snapdragon 808 SoC.

There is 32GB of built-in memory that can further be expanded via microSD card slot up to 2TB and has a 2GB of RAM. It supports dual sim dual standby and offers 4G LTE network. The other connectivity options include on the smartphone are 3G HSPA+, 2G, Edge / GPRS, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS / A-GPS navigation, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack and Micro-USB port. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow laid on top with the pre-installed applications.

Regarding camera department, it packs a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 8MP selfie shooter for taking selfies and video calls. The rear camera can record videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second and capture the excellent images. Powering of the entire smartphone is the 3000mAh capacity battery that is rated to deliver a battery juice more than a day of normal usage. It measured by 147.6 x 73.2 x 7.7 mm dimensions and is weighing around 135 grams.

The LG U smartphone will be available in White, Black, and Pink color variants. The LG U smartphone doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor while Nexus 5X smartphone came with a fingerprint scanner. The South Korean giant is focusing on cost-effective smartphones at an affordable price in range. As of now, there is no information regarding when this smartphone will launch in India and as well as outside of South Korea. So stay tuned for more related news on phoneradar.

    Expensive SD 4xx and 2GB RAM for 16000 bucks, there is already hell a lot of competition in this segment. Should have launched with a better SoC and 3GB ram.
