Last month, LG has officially unveiled the Q7, Q7+, and Q7α smartphones. Apart from differences in RAM and internal storage, all the three devices come with same design and similar internals. Recently, the company also launched the LG Q7 & Q7+ smartphones in South Korea. Now, the latest news suggests the company to soon launch the LG Q7 smartphone in the US. While the company announced the devices with its custom LG UX UI, the LG Q7 will be as Android One smartphone by T-Mobile in the US.
The device was spotted in the kernel source of the recently launched LG Stylo 4 smartphone. The Stylo 4 is the company’s first ever smartphone to come with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. It is spotted with the model number cv5a along with sprout. Earlier to this, we have found the devices tagged with sprout which are latest officially launched as Android One devices. Apart from using stock Android UI, we don’t think the Android One version of the LG Q7 will come with any other changes.
It turns out true, the LG Q7 will be the company’s first ever Android One smartphone. The device sports 5.5-inch FullVision display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device comes powered the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor. The device will be offering 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be further expandable via a MicroSD card slot. It should be running on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and must receive at least two major Android updates in the future.
It was unveiled with the metal body featuring curved edges. Most of the manufacturers except Xiaomi has been very fast in releasing the latest update to their respective Android One devices. Interm of optics, the LG Q7 will be coming with a 13MP camera on the rear with PDAF and an 8MP/5MP camera on the front for selfies. The device is also water and dust proof along with MIL-STD 810G certified for its durability. As of now, we don’t have any information about the availability of this device in the Indian market.
