With the recently launched flagship LG V30+ smartphone, LG India has finally got right with the pricing strategy for the Indian market. Instead of the dropping the price a month after the launch, the LG V30+ was priced very aggressively at Rs. 44,990. According to our exclusive source, the company will soon launch a new smartphone called LG G6 Compact or LG G6 Lite in the country. It will be the same LG G6 launched last year, but offer lower storage.
While the LG G6 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is currently retailing for Rs. 32,990, the upcoming LG G6 Compact or LG G6 Lite will cost around Rs. 25,000. The build quality and other specifications will mostly remain same on both the devices. It sports a metal frame with glass on the front and rear. There is a 5.7-inch FullVision display on the front with Quad HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.
At Rs. 25,000 price range, this new device should be offering best display and cameras than other mid-range devices. However, it comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor announced in late 2016. Though the Snapdragon 821 is more than a year old, it will offer better performance than most of the other mid-range processors we see in the market. If you are bothered about the lower storage on this device, LG is also offering a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 2TB.
In the camera department, there is a dual camera setup on the rear with a 13MP standard sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS 2.0, and a 13MP wide-angle sensor offering f/2.4 aperture and 125-degree wide-angle lens. For selfies, the smartphone sports a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and 100-degree wide angle lens. The battery 3,300mAh battery with fast charging support shouldn’t be an issue.
