LG G5 Indian Price Announced by Xiaomi VP at Mi 5 Launch
Starting from April 1st, LG made their latest flagship LG G5 available in the most of the countries including the U.S and it home country South Korea. The LG G5 along with the Samsung Galaxy S7 are announced at the MWC 2016 held earlier this year. There is no announcement over the availability of the device in the Indian market, but there are few rumors suggest the device to be made available in the second half of 2016.
It is priced at $689 in the U.S without any contracts while in India the device was rumored to be priced around Rs.55,000. But now we have the actual Indian pricing of the device. According to Hugo Barra, VP of Xiaomi, the LG G5 will be priced at Rs. 49,900 which is slightly higher than what Galaxy S7 costs here in India. In comparison with the other flagships, the Xiaomi Mi 5 costs only 50% of what the other flagships are retailing.
Though the device comes with only 3GB of RAM and 1080p display, the rest of the specifications are on par with the LG G5 and Galaxy S7. Talking about the LG G5, the first ever sale came with lots of issues like backlight bleeding and an uneven gap at the modular joint. Even the device is mentioned to be built out of complete metal, but in reality, it comes with a thick layer of plastic over the Aluminum casing.
In the Specs department, the device was on par with Galaxy S7 and is even better than Xiaomi Mi 5 in few departments. It comes with a 5.3-inches OLED display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 50 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It has 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto additional 2TB of storage.
The LG G5 includes dual rear cameras with 16MP and 8MP sensors, and the laser autofocus helps in faster focusing. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens. You can get even more productivity out of this device by the help of its friends, yes the LG G5 comes with five friends starting with the 360-degree cam, 360 VR, CAM Plus, Rolling Bot, and the LG Hi-Fi Plus including DAC.
While there is no confirmed date for the launch of the LG G5 in India, we hope to see the device even earlier to what rumors suggested. Coming to the pricing, we don’t know actual source for the Indian price of the LG G5. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days!
