Ever heard about the Brand LeTV? Well it’s a Chinese Entertainment Company which is also into online videos which is now venturing into Smartphones. To start off, they are trying to accomplish something which no other brand has launched till date which is a Smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Processor. The company has teased with an image posted on its official Hongkong Facebook page.
The brand has already announced three devices ie LeTV One, LeTV One Pro and the LeTV One Max; all running on Snapdragon 810 chipsets and the new device would have the latest processor from Snapdragon. Considering the heating issues we had seen on the Sony Xperia Z4 & few other devices which were running on the Snapdragon 810 chipsets we are not sure how the 820 would process but the stakes are high & Qualcomm would ensure that these issues are fixed.
According to the latest leaks, Xiaomi will also launch its flagship Mi5 with the Snapdragon 820. But since Qualcomm confirmed that devices powered by Snapdragon 820 will be available in the first half of 2016, which gives LeTV and Xiaomi about 4-6 months to launch their Snapdragon 820 powered smartphones. A recent report suggests that LeTV is the fastest growing smartphone brand in China, that too with just three devices in its portfolio. Another interesting fact about LeTV is that the company has sold one million Le Superphones in a span of just 3 months in the most crowded Chinese smartphone market.
Even Qualcomm hasn’t revealed the full configuration of its latest processor, though it is expected to be announced at the recently held MWC 2015, Qualcomm has just a teased with its custom build Kyros CPU. It will be accompanied by Adreno 530 GPU which boasts 40% improvement in performance with 40% less energy consumption.
Recently LeTV had also announced their plan to launch the Le Superphones in the US by the end of 2015. LeTV might not be the first manufacturer to launch Snapdragon 820 powered smartphone, but the first one to confirm it.
