LeTV beats Apple & Samsung in China with Record Sale of USD 280 million

LeTV which is the largest video content provider in China has recently entered the smartphone market by launching three smartphones called Le One, Le One Pro, Le Max. Once the devices are made available in the market, the company has reached one Million sales in a couple of months.
While there is huge competition in the entry-level sales, only the major manufacturers have launched the high-end devices. The LeTV smartphones that are available starting from April this year have gained popularity in the premium smartphone category.
Compared to other major brands like Apple and Samsung, LeTV smartphones have seen higher sales of premium smartphones through online stores. In August alone the company has sold 4,27,000 smartphones capturing 4.5% online smartphone market share.
In the recently conducted annual LeTV fans festival, the company has made sales worth of 1.78 billion Yuan ($280 million) in just a single day. While the smaller manufacturers are looking share in entry-level smartphones, LeTV has been successful in competing against major manufacturers like Huawei, Apple, Samsung and others.
A new LeTV smartphone called as Le Max 2 is rumored to sport a whopping 6GB of RAM along with Snapdragon 820 processor. Earlier launched Le One, Le One Pro, and Le Max are first smartphones to feature USB Type-C port. All the three devices came with a better build quality than the many other Chinese manufacturers.
The company has offered Le Max special edition smartphones in Pink and Gold colors. Though the Le Max special edition looks same as the normal Le Max, only major difference is the display. The Le Max special edition sports a Sapphire Glass costing $972 for Pink color variant and $924 for Gold color variant.
