Lenovo had unveiled several tablets, laptops and other computer accessories at the CES 2016 and in the meanwhile, the company hasn’t left out the smartphone segment. The Lenovo Vibe S1, world’s first smartphone with dual Selfie cameras has received a successor. Lenovo has officially launched the Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite with a glossy body but with a single Selfie camera.
The device comes with the same 5-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1080) IPS display as seen on the Vibe S1. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM while the Vibe S1 came with slightly powerful 1.7GHz MT6752 processor and 3GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage that can be further expandable via MicroSD card slot up to 32GB.
Compared to Vibe S1, the Vibe S1 Lite sports better specs in the camera section, it has the same 13MP rear camera with PDAF, and dual tone LED flash. On the front, it features an 8MP sensor along with 5-piece lens and LED flash that can capture selfies even in the dark. The front flash is what went missing on the Vibe S1, or else it could have been one of those smartphones with best selfie cameras.
The Vibe S1 Lite is also expected to give longer battery than the Vibe S1 since it sports a slightly larger 2,700mAh battery. It still runs on the Vibe UI based on Android 5.1 Lollipop while many other manufacturers are already shipping the devices with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Even though it is thicker than the Vibe S1 by measuring 8.55mm thickness, the device is slightly lighter than its predecessor.
It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE along with basic connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The Vibe S1 Lite will be available in White and Blue color options along with a price tag of $199. A month the company had launched the Vibe S1 in the Indian market priced at Rs. 15,999.
