Lenovo had officially launched its ‘Vibe S1‘ smartphone in India today. The device was first unveiled at the IFA 2015 that was held in September this year. This is the world’s first smartphone to sport dual selfie cameras, recently LG had unveiled its high-end LG V10 with same dual front camera setup. It has an 8MP + 2MP combination, where the 2MP sensor gives the option of focusing after the image is captured.

Last month it had also unveiled Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m smartphones in India that comes with massive battery capacities. It comes with a glossy finish on the back with a metallic frame around the device. The device sports 5-inch Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. It is powered by 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6752 octa-core processor coupled with  Mali T760 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

The device also has 32GB of internal storage along with an option for expanding the storage to 128GB. It has a 13MP rear camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and dual tone LED flash, this is the same camera that was also sported on Vibe P1. As earlier mentioned it has dual front cameras and the company had added few unique software features like Cut Out that can easily change the background of the image.

A battery of 2,420mAh capacity is what keeps the device powered on and as per the company it lasts up to 11 days on standby. Compared to the Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m; the Vibe S1 clearly lacks in the battery department considering its priced tag of Rs. 15,999. The dual SIM device also supports connectivity options like 4G LTE. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based Vibe S1 but the leaked support pages suggesting the device to receive Marshmallow update.

It  measures 143.3 x 70.8 x 7.8 mm and weighs 132 grams. The device will be available in Pearl White and Midnight Blue colors. Unlike the Vibe P1 and P1m, the Vibe S1 will be sold exclusively through Amazon India starting from midnight today. The price tag of Rs.15,999 is cheaper than the international pricing of $299 (approx Rs.20,000). At such an aggressive pricing, the device can be a good alternative for the OnePlus X which requires an invite to purchase.
