Lenovo Vibe P1m with 4,000mAh Battery Available for Rs.7,999 in Open Sale

Update: Oct 21, 2015 – The Lenovo Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m are now officially launched in India. Like the earlier devices, both these smartphones will be sold exclusively through Flipkart. The Vibe P1 is priced at Rs.15,999 while the Vibe P1 is priced at Rs.7,999. The Vibe P1 will be on sale starting from October 27th midnight while the Vibe P1m will be sold through flash sales. The Vibe P1 comes with a premium build and a massive 5,000mAh battery. It is also a splash proof device with the applied nano coating that is also found on the recently launched 3rd Gen Moto G.

Talking about the Vibe P1m, the device comes with 4,000mAh battery along with some decent entry-level specifications. At a price of Rs.7,999, it can be a good choice for those who looks for good battery life along with some decent specifications, but the flash sales will be barriers since only a few of the users can actually purchase the device through this flash sales. As the devices are now officially launched, stay tuned for unboxing and review of both the devices in the coming days.

During recently held Big Billion Days event, the company had announced that more than 600k smartphone have been sold out of which 90% of them comes with 4G LTE support.

Earlier: Oct 14, 2015 – The smartphones with high-end specifications are becoming more and more power hungry, and manufacturers are launching the device with massive battery capacities. Usually, we don’t see smartphones with batteries of 4,000mAh or more capacities, Gionee has its Marathon series smartphones that comes packed with huge batteries, the recently launched Marathon M4 has a whopping 5,000mAh battery.

At the IFA 2015, Lenovo has a announced two new smartphones Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m with 5,000mAh and 4,000mAh battery capacities. Along with them, the company also launched the world’s first smartphone ‘Vibe S1‘ with dual front-facing cameras. It has an 8MP main camera for capturing images and a 2MP camera for measuring the depth of field. Talking about the Vibe P1 and P1m, these are same devices that are rumored to launch at the MWC as Vibe P1 Pro and Vibe P1. Today, the company sent out the media invites for the official launch of both the smartphones on October 21st in New Delhi, India.

The Vibe P1 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. Under the hood, it has a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. Thre is a 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage along with a micorSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.

Talking about the camera, it has a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and dual LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. As mentioned earlier the Vibe P1 comes with non-removable 5,000mAh that can deliver 49 hours of talk time and can last up to 30 days on standby.

The device also supports fast charging called as ‘Rocket Charge’ that gives 2.8 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging. It also a physical switch called ‘OneKey Power Saver’ which doubles the normal battery life of the device with a single flick. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor for extra security that comes integrated into the physical home button.

This device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE along with other basic connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0.  The device measures 152.9 x 75.6 x 9.9 mm and weighs 189 grams. It will be available in the colors – Platinum and Graphite Grey.

The Vibe P1m comes with some downgraded specs, It has a smaller 5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display and is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with an expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot. The device can withstand the accidental splashes and spills, thanks to the advanced nano-coating.

It has a 4,000mAh battery with physical power saver switch. According to the company, the battery on Vibe P1m gives 36.5 hours of talk time and can last up to 23 days on standby. There is an 8MP rear camera with autofocus LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera.

The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Vibe UI. It measures 141 x 71.8 x 9.3mm and weighs 148 grams. This dual SIM device supports connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0. There is no NFC and Fingerprint sensor on this device. It will be available in the colors – Onyx Black and Pearl White.
