Hands-on
Hands-on Lenovo Phab Plus – A Tablet sized Large Smartphone
Meet the Phab Plus from Lenovo. A Phablet that comes with a 6.8″ 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM & a Qualcomm 615 processor. The right package for someone who is looking for a large screen device for media consumption but not limited to a 5.5″ Phablet. Also for someone who is not looking to purchase a costly tablet just for browsing the web & watching movies.
A product that’s smartly categorized between the Smartphone & the Tablet.
We have been testing this new device from Lenovo from the past few weeks & have had a different experience. There’s nothing new in terms of the design, features when compared to another Android device. But the way the product is positioned, between the Smartphone and a Tablet, it gives a different perspective and an interest to use it. The device was announced in IFA & is going to be launched in India soon though the price is not available yet.
While using the device for a few weeks, we did find that the weight is not high considering 220 grams for such a large device while the design did stand out.
The device does feature a very sleek design with a metallic body that feels great while using it.
As mentioned earlier, we have been testing the Phab from a few weeks & performed different activities on the device. Here are a few things that we liked about this device, and a few which we didn’t.
What we Liked:
- Browsing the Internet
- Upload an image on Social Media
- Watch YouTube Videos in HD
- Watching a movie
- One-Handed Mode
What we didn’t Like:
- Listened to music
- Making voice calls [Not comfortable without earphones]
- Does not fit in the Pocket
Following are few of the photos of this device that can give you a Physical Overview of the same.
The device does look stylish when you hold it & does stand out but what matters overall is the price at which it will be launched. Internationally the device is priced between $279 & $299 which comes to around Rs 20,000 & we hope that’s the price at which Lenovo should be launching this product here in India.
