Leaked render images of BlackBerry DTEK70 a.k.a Mercury spotted online

BlackBerry has launched a couple of smartphones under its brand name recently. Currently, the company appears to be focusing more on launching smartphones under the DTEK series. They already launched the DTEK50 as well as the DTEK60 previously, both of which are available to purchase in India. Do make a note that either of these devices is not manufactured by BlackBerry. The BlackBerry DTEK50 is just a rebranded Alcatel smartphone whereas the DTEK60 is one of the rebranded TCL smartphones. And now according to new leaks, it looks like the company will be launching the next smartphone in this series called the DTEK70.

DTEK70 is not a new name to us since we have already spotted this device online and we also had a small glimpse at the device. But now new leaked render images have surfaced online, and it shows off the device in all its glory. Taking a look at the leaked renders, we can see a black color variant of the smartphone. At the front, we have the QWERTY keyboard, just like we saw in the previous report back in November. This physical keyboard is making a come back now after a while since the last couple of smartphone from BlackBerry lacked it. And now taking a look at the back of the device, we can see the huge camera sensor at the back.

As always the BlackBerry Logo sits to the center of the device at the back, and there is pretty much nothing else back there. This is the first look at the back that we have here, and it looks pretty neat. Apart from that, we don’t really many details on the physical aspect of the device. On the hand talking about the specs of the device, it has been reported that we will be getting 4.2-inch display on the front without the mention of any resolution. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone will be kept powered by a 3,400mAh battery as well.

As far as the specs of the smartphone are concerned, it appears to be a rather mid-ranged phone, unlike the DTEK60 which has really promising specs. The DTEK50 is teased to be one of the most secure smartphones on the planet as it had a special encryption chip inside. No such claims are made here as of now for this smartphone. However, we have to wait longer to get some official working from the company. Interestingly it is also reported that the smartphone will be launching on 4th January which is today, so we have to wait and see what we get here from BlackBerry. With that said, if you want to know more about the smartphone, then we suggest you stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more details on the same.
