Lava has just launched the Iris Fuel 20 smartphone with a whooping 4400 mAh battery, while pricing it well into the budget range at Rs. 5399. Earlier to this, there were two devices, the Fuel 40 and Fuel 60 in the Lava Iris series and the two were ones with focus put on battery. It is a similar case with the Lava Iris Fuel 20, but the device has a lot of compromise with other specs, and Lava will sell this as a smartphone with long battery life.
The Fuel 20 comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display, and the device is powered by a Dual-core processor from Mediatek (probably MT6572) clocking at 1.3 GHz, along with 512MB of RAM. Out of the 4GB internal storage, about 2.2GB is user available and there is MicroSD card slot supporting storage expansion up to 32GB.
The Android version running in the device is Android 4.4 KitKat, and the Fuel 20 is a Dual SIM smartphone with Dual Standby. For the most interesting part, i.e. 4400 mAh battery, the company claims it can last for 42 days on standby with Single SIM, and the talktime provided is 42 hours on 2G network.
The smartphone doesn’t support 3G connectivity, and data network is limited to 2G EDGE, while the other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. On the camera aspect, the Lava Iris Fuel 20 comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera with 4x digital zoom and 720p video recording. On the front, there is a VGA camera.
The smartphone is going to be available in both white and black color options.
