Twitter Doubles Display Name Characters to 50
Twitter recently enabled the 280-character limit for all its users. Today, the company increased the display name character limit from 25 to 50. This new change allows users to add their middle names or the even the emojis. I personally have a large name and its good to see my full name as the display name. To change your display name, head over to your profile and tap on edit profile.
Samsung Releases Second Oreo-based Beta Update for the Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus
A few weeks after rolling out the first Android 8.0 Oreo-based beta update for the Galaxy S8 & Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones, the company today released the second beta update. It comes in 610MB size and brings the October’s Android security patch update. This new beta update also improves the launcher and DeX mode stability. The Android 8.0 Oreo beta update is currently limited to users in the US, UK, and South Korea.
Qualcomm Unveiled the World’s First 10nm Server Processor
Qualcomm today unveiled the Centriq 2400 ARM-based server processor and is also the world’s smallest processor. It includes ARMv8-based custom Falkor CPU with 48 cores design. The Centriq 2400 also supports up to six DDR4 memory channels with a peak aggregate bandwidth of 128GB/s. With the advanced process node technology, this processor also consumes 65 Watts when running at full load.
Reliance Jio to Brings its Own VR App by 2018
The Jio suite of apps currently includes My Jio, Jio Music, Jio Cinema, Jio TV, Jio4GVoice, and few more. Next year, we might be seeing a VR app joining the list. The RIL-owned company in collaboration with Birmingham City University will be developing this new app. With its own VR platform, the company might have exclusive content in the near future. We also expect to see more collaborations for producing the VR & AR content for the Jio own platform.
Sony Fixes Camera Issues on Xperia XZ Premium With the New Update
Sony has been consistent with the latest software and security patches updates. Today, it rolled out a new OTA update for the Sony Xperia XZ Premium smartphone with the build number 47.1.A.5.51. Apart from receiving the November Android security patch update, it also fixes camera issues related to the dual-SIM variants. While the users will be receiving a notification about the new update, they can also manually check through “About Device” page in the settings.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Max Gets Rs. 1,000 Discount in India
A few days after announcing the Rs. 1,000 price cut on Galaxy J7 Pro, the company today slashed the Galaxy J7 Pro from Rs. 17,999 to Rs. 16,999. Just like the Galaxy J7 Pro, the Galaxy J7 Max is also sold online through Amazon and Flipkart. The smartphones in Black and Gold color options. It is the first smartphone to feature the Samsung Pay Mini feature for making hassle-free payments.
