When Reliance Jio forayed into India, which is now the most prominent cellular network in the country (with over 250 million subscribers) has interestingly brought its native apps called Jio Apps – Jio Music, Jio Cinema, Jio Health etc. While these apps have been favorite similar to the network amongst the users, Jio Music is one of the popular app amongst the lot.
Jio Music, which had 10 Crore downloads in the Google Play Store and was ranked No. 1 in Music & audio category in India, is now replaced by JioSaavn. This new app launch is part of the acquirement made by Jio with Saavn back in March.
The new JioSaavn app is pretty much identical to the existing Saavn app, with a more straightforward interface and specific ads as well. However, there are some significant changes in JioSaavn app when compared to the Saavn app. Previously in Saavn, the downloads feature was only given to the users whoever are into the Pro subscription of the service, instead now, in JioSaavn app, users are now able to download without any subscription service.
A report further suggests that Jio is offering a 90-day trial of the JioSaavn Pro subscription; however, the perks of the Pro membership is yet to be known. We can expect the removal of ads and a higher streaming quality service along with the downloads feature as well. The new JioSaavn update is yet to be rolled out sometime soon in India.
