The Indian smartphone, Intex has launched yet another low-cost smartphone called Intex ELYT-e1. From the last one year, the Chinese brands have shifted their focus from low-cost to budget mid-range smartphones. On the other hand, the Indian smartphone brands are bringing the ultra-cheap smartphones as an alternative to features phones which still has a healthy market share. In the last few weeks, we have seen quite a few 4G VoLTE smartphones launching with a price tag lower than Rs. 5,000. Now, the newly launched Intex ELYT-e1 is priced at Rs. 6,999 and packs decent specifications.

It comes only in Gold color and sports a brush finished plastic removable back cover. The ELYT-e1 sports a 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and offers a pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood is the year’s old 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 306 GPU. It packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to additional 128GB. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and includes several pre-installed bloatware apps that decrease the available storage on this device.

There is an 8MP autofocus rear camera with 1080p video recording support. For selfie, the company is also offering an 8MP fixed focus camera. Both the front and rear cameras come with LED flash for capturing photos and recording videos even in low light conditions. It is backed by a 2,200mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 5.5 hours of talk time and lasts up to 220 hours on standby mode. In case if you are worried bout the SAR values, the Intex ELYT-e1 offers 0.602 W/kg at the head and 0.930 W/kg at the body. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers VoLTE for using with the Jio 4G SIM.

Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. On the rear, we can also find the fingerprint sensor. It also packs few sensors including Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor, and Gravity Sensor. It measures 142.4 x 71.5 x 8.7 mm and weighs 145 grams. The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge of the device. Instead of shopping at retail stores, if you can purchase via online stores, then are much better alternatives like Xiaomi Redmi 4A at even cheaper price.
