If you aren’t living under a rock, you would already know what Instagram is and how popular it has become. The app initially launched as photo-sharing app had made its way to one of the most popular social media app followed by Facebook and Snapchat. Though the app has borrowed essential features from its competition, it still has evolved gradually and had reached a billion monthly active users.
Well, this has certainly been possible due to its wide range of options and not just photo sharing. The Facebook-owned company had introduced several features – like video sharing, direct messaging, video calls and alongside photo and location sharing via Instagram Stories. In today’s era having a popular Instagram is considered to be a status-symbol amongst prominent people as well as the younger generation. The plethora of features, which are already available on Instagram gets a new feature for US users, at least for now. Checkout feature for Instagram users has been rolled out in the US with which you can now buy products directly from the Instagram itself.
Earlier, the shopping feature was already available in the mobile photo-sharing platform wherein users could select the product from the app itself but they were redirected to the company’s website to make the purchase. This is more convenient now with Checkout feature for the users primarily in the US as now they can click the item post – select the respective size – and can place the order by making payment within the same app.
The Checkout feature accepts all kinds of popular cards such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal as well. Instagram assures these card details are stored within the app for quick purchasing in the future and the company had also confirmed that it had partnered with more than 20 brands for this Checkout feature. Brands like Adidas, Zara, H&M, Nike and more are part of this new Checkout feature on Instagram. So, what do you think of the new Instagram Checkout feature? Will you buy it straight from the app?
