Infocus M812 to Receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update by the End of 2015

Update: Nov 9, 2015 – Infocus had officially confirmed the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the high-end Infocus M812.The OTA will hit the devices by December 31st, 2015.  Along with the Infocus M812, entry-level smartphone Infocus M370 will also receive the Marshmallow update. Both the devices are launched with Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. Apart from the major manufacturers, not many others have announced Marshmallow update for their devices.

Earlier: Sep 23, 2015 – InFocus, the U.S-based smartphone manufacturer has announced four new smartphones M370, M550-3D, M808, and M812 in an event held in July. The Infocus M812, which is the high-end smartphone from the above-mentioned devices, is now officially launched in India for Rs.19,999. Earlier the company has launched few low-cost smartphones that offered better cameras at the budget pricing.

Talking about M812, it comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display and Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. It is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and coupled with Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The device comes with 16GB of internal storage and can be further expandable upto 128GB via a microSD card.

Coming to the camera, it has a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and dual LED Flash, and on the front there is an 8MP fixed focus camera with f/1.8 aperture and wide angle lens. The 2,900mAh battery on this device can last upto 500 hours on standby and also supports quick charging that can charge upto 80% in just 60 minutes.

On the connectivity side, it has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device will be exclusively sold through Snapdeal for Rs.19,999. The registration for the device starts today, and the sale starts on October 1st.
