Idea Cellular Drops 2G, 3G & 4G data packs with 45% more data benefits

Before the launch of Reliance Jio Infocom’s mobile services, other service providers in the country are slashing down their data rates, etc. to prepare themselves for the upcoming battle in the market. Now, joining the race is yet another service provider in the country, and it is none other than Idea.
Both the telecom operators have effectively slashed the data price per megabyte. According to the reports, Idea has slashed its price for all 2G, 3G & 4G services. Now Idea users can get up to 45% more data benefits on packs below 1GB priced between 8 INR and 225 INR. The 2G data pack priced at 19 INR offering 75MB data for three days, now offer 110 MB data for 3 days. Similarly, a 3G/4G data pack for 22 INR which offers 65 MB data for three days, will now give 90 MB 3G data for three days. Check out the below plans for detailed info –
The revised data packages are available across all circles starting July 15. The data benefits/price points for the packs may vary across circles. Idea is also the only telecom service provider in the country to offer carrier billing facility to Android users. With carrier billing service, Android users can purchase apps on Google Play without credit cards.
Jio is expected to trigger a price war in the wireless broadband as it will seek to get customers from the existing operators, bringing down data costs further. Jio is expected to mainly concentrate on broadband. Bharti Airtel said now its customers will enjoy more value on these existing packs and can add to their mobile internet experience by staying online longer and download more of their favorite content.
The new Jio service is expected to be adopted by a lot of customer across the country due to it’ value added services. As reported earlier, even without the commercial launch Jio already gained 7,00,000 users, and as guessed earlier, the company might give fierce competition to all the other well-established service providers.
