Huawei Watch Announced for $349 at IFA 2015



Update – September 2, 2015, 18:30 : Huawei has announced the pricing of its Android Wear smartwatch, which was announced six months ago. Company is justifying the wait by offering more variants for their smartwatch. Just named – Huawei Watch – it would be competing with premium smartwatch in the market right now, which includes Apple Watch, LG Urbane and the Samsung Gear S2, which is expected to be priced heavy based on its features that were made official by company before its announcement on day two at IFA Expo, Berlin.

The price range available for the Huawei Watch is between $349 to $799, where you get standard stainless steel watch with leather strap as first model, while the costliest model would come with Rose Gold-plated body and strap. It might be costly, but the interesting fact is that, the company is offering the official iOS support for the devices running on iOS 8.2+.

With stylish looks and features that would make many Android Wear smartwatches cry, the Huawei Watch, is a directly giving competition to Apple Watch. The UK availability of the smartwatch is in October this year.

Earlier – March 1, 2015, 18:23 : After announcing its Smartband in London on Tuesday this week, the company has finally announced a smart watch, which might be worthy of your time. On top of that this is powered Android Wear, the much talked about wearable operating system that was announced by Google last year.

The Huawei Watch is made with sapphire glass and features a stainless steel body. The watch comes with a 1.4-inch, 400 x 400 pixel resolution, which makes this the highest resolution display on a Smartwatch. It is a circular super AMOLED display sitting inside 316L corrosive-resistant body. It makes it a scratch resistance and is easily usable with wet hands or gloves on.

The new smartwatch has inbuilt the microphone, which assures that it has voice calling capabilities. The device packs quite a lot of sensors including 6-axis, barometer, as well as heart rate monitor. With 6-axis sensor, the Huawei Watch can recognize the motion you are doing in real time. Such as walking, running, cycling, and the automatically.

According to the company, the device would with around 40 different included watch faces and would have a choice of gold, silver or black finish, as well as a variety of different bands to go match with. It would be compatible with devices running Android 4.3 or above.

The Watch boasts hardware specs like Qualcomm 1.2Ghz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, which makes this on par with current Android Wear powered smartwatches in the market. Though, the pricing of the device is not mentioned yet, we hope that this would be the premium watch that all the smartwatch enthusiasts would like to purchase. It will operate over the latest Bluetooth 4.1 standard, which is likely to make its battery performance better. Although, no battery rating details have shared by the company.

It is said to go on sale in more than 20 country including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, and more.
