Huawei Nova 3 with 18:9 Display & Glass Back Body Listed on TENAA

After launching the Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus smartphones, recently the company also launched the Huawei Nova 2i (a.k.a Honor 9i) in few South-east Asian markets. While there are leaks about the upcoming Nova 2s, the company is actually going to launch the Nova 3 and Nova 3 Plus devices. Huawei introduced the Nova series during the IFA 2016 event held in Berlin, Germany. Now, the new leaks revealed the first look and few key specifications of the Nova 3 smartphone.

Unlike its predecessor, the Nova 3 (HWI-AL00) seems to come with a glass back body. From the images, we can see also the shiny metal frame with the power button and volume rocker on the right and SIM card slot on the left. On the front is a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and might come with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution. While the majority of the smartphones with an 18:9 display comes with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the Nova 3 still includes a front facing home button with an integrated fingerprint sensor.

On the rear, the device sports dual camera setup with a single LED flash. Even the front camera on this also comes accompanied by a LED flash. The earlier leaked images confirmed the presence of IR blaster on this device. The USB Type-C port along with loudspeaker and 3.5mm audio jack are placed on the bottom edge. We also expect the device to run on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out of the box. Compared the Nova 3, the Nova 3 Plus might come with a bigger display.

The Huawei Nova 2i came with a 5.9-inch FullView display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It is powered by the 64-bit Kirin 659 octa-core processor clocked at 2.36GHz. The smartphone came with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It came with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with EMUI 5.1 laid on top. In terms of optics, there is a 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear and a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the front. It is backed by a 3,340mAh and offers basic connectivity options.
