Huawei Mate S with Force Touch Display Officially Announced at IFA 2015



Huawei has officially announced its latest flagship smartphone ‘Huawei Mate S’. It has been listed directly on an online store even before the actual launch. The device comes with some high-end specifications. Earlier, the company launched the Honor 7i with an innovative camera design. It came with a 13MP rear camera fixed into a module that can be flipped to make it has a front camera. Even Google has teamed up with Huawei to launch their next Nexus device this year.

The device sports a 5.5-inch 2.5D Full HD (1920×1080) IPS OLED display with a pixel density of 401ppi. It also includes a Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top of it. The display has almost invisible bezels and the interesting thing about Mate S display is the Force Touch that can identify the pressure of your touch. According to the company you can even weigh the objects like oranges by just keeping them on the display. Though ZTE unveiled the Axon Mini with Force Touch display, the Mate S will be the world’s first smartphone to come featured with it. It also rumored that Apple will launch the iPhone 6s with the Force touch display.

The display also supports Knuckle sense 2.0, that can be used same as the gesture control. It will be powered by an in-house Kirin 935 octa-core processor, this is the same processor that used in the company’s latest flagship ‘Huawei P8.’ The device has a 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storages. It supports dual SIM dual standby via a hybrid SIM slot and offers 4G LTE connectivity on both the SIM.

Coming to the camera, it has a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Below the rear camera we can find the fingerprint sensor 2.0 in a new concave shape and with a high pixel per inch ratio. The device has a Li-Po battery of 4,100mAh capacity and includes fast charging support. With just 10 minutes of charging the device can give you 2 hours of talk time

It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based EMUI 3.1. The device measures 157 x 81 x 7.9 mm and weighs 185 grams. It comes in the colors – Coral Pink, Mystique Champagne, Titanium Grey, and Prestige Gold. The 32GB internal storage variant is priced at 649 Euros ($730) and 64GB variant costs 699 Euros ($786). The company hasn’t mentioned the pricing for the 128GB variant.
