The first thing you always need to do is to check for any latest software update available for your device. The manufacturers will release the OTA’s for specific devices which contain the fixes for any minor bugs and enhancements to improve the functionality of the device. Change Animation Settings

By changing the animation settings of your device once can easily enhance the functionality of the phone. The settings can be altered by enabling the developer option on the device, and that can be done by tapping few times on the ‘Build number’ option under ‘Settings>About Phone’. Once the options are enabled, you can scroll down the developer options under settings to find the animation settings.

Now, turn off the animation settings or else change them to 0.5X for the snappier performance of the device. Also, you can revert to old settings by doing the reverse process at any time. But altering the animations to 0.5X will make your device perform faster than now.

Power Saving Mode

In the Honor 5X device, you have plenty of options to enhance the device’s functionality and one of which is power saving mode. By default, the smart mode will be enabled, and you can see this under ‘Settings>Power Saving.’ In here, you can view ultra, smart and normal modes out of which ‘Normal’ enhances the performance of your device better than the other two. So, change the mode to ‘Normal’ from ‘Smart’ and you can change the mode settings at any time you want.

Uninstall Pre-installed Apps

By default, your device comes with few pre-installed apps out of which some may be bloatware which causes the over-heating, battery draining and performance issues. So, in the first case, all you need to do is uninstall all such apps from the device and keep safe. Also, every Android user likes to install various apps available in the play store out of which few will be unnecessary.

So, once recheck all the apps from your ‘installed apps’ section and uninstall the useless apps from the device which helps in saving the storage space and improving the performance as well. By long pressing on the app, you will get an option to uninstall the app and just follow the on-screen instructions to do so.

Clear App Cache and Wipe Cache partition

Cache is the most important thing which shouldn’t be ignored as it causes the performance issue in the device. Every time you open or use a specific app, the cache gets stored in the background, and all you need to do is clear it in time. So, open each app from the installed apps in settings and tap on ‘Clear Cache’ option to remove the cache.

Not only app cache, but you also need to clear the cache from the device and for that you need to perform wipe cache partition. To do this, you need to turn off your phone and should enter into recovery mode. Usually, this can be done by holding Volume up and power button at the same time after turning off the device. Once the phone is in recovery mode, select and confirm the ‘Wipe Cache Partition’ using volume and power button respectively. After the completion of the process, select and confirm, ‘Reboot System Now.’

Perform Factory Reset

Factory Reset will erase everything from your device and makes it a brand new one to use. This process will improve the performance of the phone, and you can use this whenever your device is extremely slow. Remember to back up the data before performing a factory reset. You can perform this step, by entering into recovery mode as explained above where you have to choose ‘Wipe data/Factory reset’ after which ‘Reboot System Now.’

Another way to perform factory reset is by tapping, ‘Settings>Backup & Reset>Factory Reset>Reset phone’ and follow on-screen instructions. Once the task is done, you have a new device in your hand with no data at all.

Other Precautions

Also, you can follow few precautionary steps using which the phone can perform better. Remember to turn off the WiFi and Bluetooth connections whenever not in use and always make a habit of adjusting the brightness and rotation manually. Do not open many apps at a time as it may over-load the processor and phone gets hanged. Always use the original chargers for charging the device as duplicate chargers will discharge the phone very quickly. Never use the data connection in low coverage area unless necessary, as it may heat the device and discharge the battery sooner.

If you are facing any other performance issues on your Huawei Honor 5X device, then write them down in the comments section below, and we try to resolve them for you.
