Update: Nov 1, 2015 – Earlier we had exclusively reported the launch of HTC Desire 828 to happen in the next few days and today the company had started taking pre-orders. The device is priced at 1,599 Yuan (approx $253 / Rs. 16,550) and is available in the colors White and Grey colors. At this price range, Desire 828 is one of the few smartphones to offers OIS.

As said before, this is the first smartphone in the Desire series to feature Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Recently the company had launched the two new smartphones HTC One M9e and HTC One M9+ Supreme Camera Edition with OIS support. There is no information about the launch of the device in the other markets.

Earlier: Oct 28, 2015 – HTC is one of those smartphone manufacturers that have lost their market share against the rise of the Chinese manufacturers. While the flagship devices from HTC are failing to impress the users, the Desire smartphones are the reason for the company’s little market share. Today, we are tipped about the launch of ‘Desire 828’ smartphone to happen in the next couple of weeks.

HTC Desire 828 Launch (1)

This is the same device that was earlier listed on TENAA as ‘HTC Desire 828w.’ It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor. It has a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to 2TB.

Talking about the camera, it has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization, making the Desire 828 first ever Desire smartphone to feature OIS. On the front, it has a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and super wide angle lens. The device comes with dual HTC’s BoomSound speakers placed on the front of the device.

It has a 2,800mAh battery that can give a single day of mixed usage. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity. The design of the device is totally different from the recently launched Desire smartphone; it has round edges with diamond-shaped metallic frame around the device.

With all these features, the device feels slim with just 7.9mm thick. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based HTC Sense 6.0 UI. As of now there is no information regarding the pricing of the device, but we expect the device to be priced around $250-$300. Stay tuned for more information regarding the launch date and the availability of the device.
