HTC had recently launched the Desire 825 and Desire 830 smartphones in its home country. Today a new mid-range device named HTC Desire 628 is listed on the official website of HTC Vietnam. The device looks similar to the Desire 830 but comes in a smaller form factor. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display which is smaller than 5.5-inch display of Desire 830.
It is powered by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The device includes 3GB of RAM, which might make the Desire 628 most affordable HTC device to feature such a high RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded further via MicroSD card slot upto 2TB. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity.
The device might come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Sense UI out-of-the-box. It has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front camera with a f/2.4 aperture for selfies. The device is kept powered on by a 2,200mAh battery that also supports fast charging with the provided 5V/1.5A adapter. From the images, we can find the Boomsound speakers on the front.
It includes a MicroUSB 2.0 port on the bottom edge while the 3.5mm audio port can be found on the top. The device measures 146.9 x 70.9 x 9.8 mm and weighs 142 grams. Talking about the Desire 830, it is powered by an Helio X10 octa-core processor and includes the same RAM and storage as Desire 628. While the rear camera remains same, the device comes with a 4MP ultra pixel camera. Since the device is already listed, we can expect it to be launched soon.
