How to Use S Bike Mode on Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 – Tutorial

Samsung‘s new smartphone i.e., the Galaxy J3 2016 comes with an interesting S Bike Mode on your device which is used to notify about all the urgent incoming by filtering from all the incoming calls. By using this option you will not be able to use your device at a speed of 10 Kmph and above.

Before your proceed with the actual setup of S Bike Mode, you need to update the application from the Galaxy App available on your device. The Size of the Update File is around 6.72MB and can be downloaded by logging into the Samsung Account. To setup this application on your device, press and hold the power button until the power window appears on the screen. In the new window, tap on the S Bike Mode and click on the enable button to use this on your device.

In the S Bike Mode opens and Welcome message is displayed on your screen. Now click on the next button where you need to accept the terms&condition and click on the next button further. A Disclaimer message is displayed on the screen regarding the usage of your Samsung device, now tap on the next button. In the new window, you will find the tutorial images of using the S Bike Mode, now tap on the next button where S Bike Mode is finally activated and “Earphones cannot be used when BikeMode is turned On” is displayed on your device.

The S Bike Mode comes with three options on the home screen and a settings cog with a help option on the top right of the screen. The three options on the home screen are Notifications, Smart Reply and My Rides.

Notification

Notification option shows you the notifications of all the incoming call sorted by their urgency is displayed on the screen while you are on drive.

Smart Reply

This option is used to send automatic text messages containing your estimated journey time to selected contacts when they call you while you are on a bike ride. But this option must be enabled on your device if you want to use it while riding a bike. At max, you can add upto 4 contacts to whom you can send the message while you are on a ride.

My Rides
My Rides option is used to keep a track on all the rides which you have taken by activating the S Bike Mode on your device. In you can earn badges and share them on the social media once your achieve your targets where Bronze is for 50KM, Silver is for 500KM and Gold is for 100KM.

How to quickly enable the Bike Mode on your device?

The device comes with NFC connectivity on it and this can be used to quickly enable that on your device. The package also comes with a Samsung S Bike NFC tag out of the box which must be placed on the you bike. Now just place you phone on the NFC tag to quickly activate it on your device, before you take a ride.

How are the Urgent Calls filters on your device?

All the incoming calls will be automatically answered on your device while you are on a bike rider and he caller will be asked to press 1 if their call is urgent. Once they press the 1 button then you will receive a notification on your device while you are on a ride.

What is Motion Lock?

Motion Lock is used to lock you device when you are at a speed on 10 Kmph and above. Though you try to open your device, the motion lock option will not allow to use this on your device.

How to disabled the S Bike Mode on your device?

There are two ways using which you can disable the S Bike Mode on your device.

Method 1: You can just place your device on the NFC Tag to disabled the S Bike Mode on your device.

Method 2: Press and Hold the bike button to disable the S Bike Mode on your device.
