If you are using this smartphone and would like to upgrade to any of the other smartphone available in the current market, then always remember to Reset your device before you resale your device or else give that to any of the family members or friends to use. Factory Data Resetting is a simple process and can be accomplished in two ways, i.e., Soft Reset and Hard Reset. Before you factory reset your device you can go through the Tips and Tricks of the device which we have covered earlier on PhoneRadar.
Soft Reset is technically restarting your device it may be your smartphone or tablet. This action would close any running applications as well as would clear any data stored in RAM, i.e. the cached memory. Although, do make a note that it won’t remove any data stored on the hard drive, as well as no settings or applications would be affected in terms of data loss. This reset process is used when your device slows or get stuck while multitasking on your device.
In Hard Reset, all the data is cleared from your device including the Phone’s internal storage and the data cannot be retrieved back once your format your device.
Step 1: Open the Settings from the App Drawer and tap on Backup & Reset.
Step 2: In the new window, you will find both the backup and reset options. Now tap on Factory Data Reset, which is at the bottom of the screen in the personal data section.
Step 3: In the Factory Data Reset window, a message stating this will delete all your internal storage including Google account, downloaded apps, music and other data. Now tap on Reset Phone button, i.e., on the bottom of the screen.
Step 4: If you have set any security lock on your device, then you need to enter the security code to proceed further.
Step 5: A final warning stating “Erase all your personal information and apps, and the process cannot be reversed.” Now tap on the EraseEverything.
The device restarts and all the data is erased from your Phone. Once the data is cleared the device reboots again as if you are booting the device for the first time.
Note: Before you factory reset your device make sure you create a backup of data, as factory reset is an irreversible process and data cannot be retrieved back once you format/factory reset your device.
