How To Erase & Factory Data Reset your Motorola Moto X Play

Motorola has recently launched a new smartphone, i.e., the Motorola Moto X Play priced at Rs 19,999. The device comes with 5.5-inch IPS display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is a dual SIM smartphone and supports dual standby. It comes powered by Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 SoC quad-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. The device comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB as its internal storage and can be expanded to 128 GB using an external Micro SD card. It comes with 3630 mAh Non-removable battery and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1. If you are using this smartphone and would like to switch to the latest flagship killer by Motorola, i.e., the Moto X Force then always remember to factory reset your smartphone.

Soft Reset:
It is the general Method of resetting your smartphone where you just need to restart your device in case you want to close all the applications and clear the RAM on your device. This is used when you get stuck with any of the options on your device and unable to close it.
Hard Reset:
This is the actual method of reset where all the data is cleared on your device without and makes your device fresh for use. To Hard reset your device you can follow the below-mentioned steps.
Step 1: Open the settings and tap on Backup & Reset in the Personal section.
Step 2: In the new window, you will find the backup and reset options. You need to tap on the Factory Data Reset option which is at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: It will show the list of the accounts and data available on your device. Now you need to tap on the Reset Phone button which is at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4: If you have set any password to your device, then you need to enter the password to proceed further.
Step 5: Once you enter the password. It will show you the final Warning message stating “This is irreversible”. Now click on the Erase Everything button which is at the bottom of the screen.
The device restarts and all the data is erased from your device. Once the data is deleted the device reboots again as if you are booting the device for the first time.
Note: Before you factory reset your Moto X Play, always remember to create the backup of the data available on your device as factory data resetting is an irreversible process and data once deleted cannot be retrieved back.
