Honor V8 Max with 6.6″ Quad HD Display & 4,400mAh Battery to Launch on August 1st

Earlier this week, Honor had officially launched its new smartphone Honor 8 in China. Now the latest leaks suggest the Honor V8 Max (EDI-DL00) to launch on August 1st. We already got the specifications and first look of the device with the TENNA listing. The device comes with a huge 6.6-inch display along with other high-end specifications. Recently we have seen Asus and Xiaomi launching the 6.8-inch Zenfone 3 Ultra and 6.44-inch Mi Max phablets, now the Huawei‘s sub-brand Honor is entering the league of phablets.
It features 6.6-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the Kirin 950 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. The device also includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card slot. On the camera front, there is a 13MP primary sensor with dual tone LED flash and an 8MP sensor on the front for selfies. It offers dual SIM dual standby and supports 4G LTE with VoLTE.
The device is backed by a 4,400mAh battery that might last at least a day of usage. We also expect it to support fast charging with the 9V/2A power adapter as seen with Honor V8. It measures 178.8 x 90.9 x 7.18 mm and weighs almost 219 grams. From the images, we can find the device to come with a metal build body and is mentioned to be available in Gold and Silver colors. On the rear, there is also a circular fingerprint sensor which might also be used to access the notifications panel and as shutter button in the camera app.
The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with latest EMUI 4.1 overlaid. The Honor 8 that was launched on July 11th is priced at 199 Yuan for the basic variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage while there are two more variants with 4GB RAM. Just like Honor V8, the Honor also came with dual rear cameras but the V8 Max is limited to just one sensor. Stay tuned for more updates!
