Honor to make a Smart Watch on MediaTek Platform

Honor has been in the news regularly for brining plethora of smartphones in the recent past. Now the company is getting ready to bring a new smartwatch into the market as a new device with the model number ELF-G10 has been spotted on Bluetooth SIG certification. There isn’t much information on this upcoming device but the document refers to it as a smartwatch. Furthermore, it gets Bluetooth 4.0 low energy standard certification which is required for a smartwatch to consume less power.
Recently we have seen Honor unveiled its Watch Magic which is similar to the Huawei Watch GT from its parental company. The point to be noted here is, the new smartwatch will be coming with a MediaTek SoC which has been not seen or heard of since Qualcomm has most of the share of the wearable market. The recently launched Watch GT came with an innovative dial-chipset design with a custom ultra-low-power chip which also runs most of the basic functions of the watch and also powerful only when required giving great battery life for its users.
The Watch GT comes with a Cortex-M4 chipset with high power processor and also provides 30 days of battery life if the user turns off the heart rate monitor and GPS. It will be lasting for 14 days if the user is turning on the heart rate for 1:30 hours a week and 22 hours of continuous GPS, always on screen and heart rate turned on. It is rated for 5ATM water resistance and comes with 1.39-inch AMOLED display.
Honor might be bringing the chipset to improve the battery performance on its Smartwatch which could be a new experiment from them. Well, we need to wait a few more days for the smartwatch to be unveiled and we could see more leaks of the device in the coming days. What are your views on this upcoming smartwatch?
