Honor 9N with 5.84″ Notch Display & 13MP Dual Cameras Launched in India for Rs 11,999

As confirmed last week, Honor has officially launched the all-new Honor 9N smartphone today in India. The Honor 9N is the same Honor 9i (2018) which was recently unveiled alongside the Honor Play smartphone in China. We can find a lot of similarities between the new Honor 9N and Honor 9 Lite smartphones. On the design front, both the devices look exactly similar. While the Honor 9 Lite came with 16:9 display, the new Honor 9N comes with the modern looking notch display. It sports a 5.84-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.

The device sports 2.5D curved glass on the front and rear. Under the hood is the HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The device will also support newly announced GPU Turbo technology that enhances the GPU performance and optimizes the battery consumption. It will be available later this year through an OTA update. The Honor 9 Lite sports 3GB/4GB of RAM and comes with 32GB/64GB/128GB storage options. There is a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 256GB using a MicroSD card.

Talking about the cameras, the Honor 9N sports 13MP + 2MP dual cameras on the rear and a 16MP single camera on the front. Both the front and rear cameras offer portrait mode for capturing photos with a nice depth effect. Interestingly, the company has included manual controls for both videos and photos. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with the custom EMUI 8.0 skin laid on the top. The device supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM card. Though there are a lot of pre-installed apps on this device, they can be easily uninstalled to slightly increase the available storage.

It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and support only up to 5V/2A (10W) power input. On the rear, we can spot the circular fingerprint sensor. Also, the Honor 9N offers face unlock option for securely unlocking. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The Honor 9N measures 149.2 × 71.8 × 7.7 mm and weighs 152 grams. While the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge, the SIM card is on the left edge.

Coming to the pricing, the Honor 9N with 3GB RAM is priced at Rs 11,999. There is also a 4GB RAM variant with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage priced at Rs 13,999 & Rs 17,999 respectively. It comes in Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black, Lavender Purple, and Robin Egg Blue color options. The device will be sold exclusively via Flipkart starting July 31st.
