Honor 9 to be Launched in Midnight Black variant, to go on sale starting 18th July

Honor has decided to push in another variant of its flagship model Honor 9. The device will be launched in Midnight Black color variant and will go on sale starting 18th July. Earlier the Honor 9 was offered in Grey, Blue and Gold color option and now this Midnight color variant will go on sale soon. It is expected that the new variant will also be priced the same as other colors.

The Honor 9 comes with a glass body back which like most of its predecessors and comes with a physical home button on the front with a fingerprint sensor embedded into it to enhance the security levels. The handset will come with a 5.15-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) touchscreen display giving a pixel density of 428 PPI. To power this device there is a 64-bit Kirin 960 octa-core processor with a clocking speed of 2.4GHz coupled with Mali-G71 MP8 GPU.

The handset will be available in 4GB/6GB RAM options with onboard storage varying between 64GB and 128GB which can be extended further with a microSD card up to 256GB. The handset runs out of the box with Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top. There is the 20MP + 12MP dual camera setup on this device and has features like Laser autofocus, dual tone LED flash and PDAF. There is also an 8MP front facing camera for selfies and video calling.

Connectivity options on the Honor 9 include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, 3.5mm Audio port, and a USB Type-C port. The IR Blaster on this handset that helps in controlling the TV or AC like a remote. There is a 3200mAh battery on the rear to power the handset and supports 18W fast charging.   • There is not much difference compared to Honor8Pro apart from less battery, different design, and placement of fingerprint scanner! And it won’t be launched in India as 8 Pro just launched here..
