Honor 8X to get Android 9 Pie Update in India Starting March 18

Honor has announced that it will be rolling Android 9 Pie update to its Honor 8X smartphone based on EMUI 9.0 in India. The same update was rolled out to the devices like Honor 10, Honor Play and Honor View 10 a few weeks back and expected to roll out to few other devices also in the coming days. This new update is going to bring gestures to the handset along with GPU Turbo 2.0, AI shopping, HiVision visual Search, Translation, Wireless Sharing, Password Vault, Digital Balance dashboard and more.

With this new update, the Honor 8X will be getting an improved search capability with reverse image search that will help its users to learn more about people, vehicles, and Plants. Furthermore, it is aimed to bring smoother and secure user experience and EMUI 9 unifies combining functions into a single streamlined experience. It will also be supporting AR scanning capabilities on the device along with image recognition technology to help the user track any item.

The Digital balance feature will help its users to understand and manage their Chile habits and also recognizes the apps that are safer and know how to protect them. More about the update will be known once it starts rolling to the device. Well, the Honor 8X sports a 6.5-inch big display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device sports an Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM.

There is a 20MP main rear facing camera along with a 2MP depth sensor on the handset and for selfies, Honor has provided a 16MP camera. There is a 3750mAh battery on the handset that supports fast charging technology up to 10W. The Honor 8X also has a fingerprint sensor on the rear to enhance the security levels. The latest update for the Honor 8X will start rolling out from 18th of March and it will be rolled out in batches, so it might take some time to hit your device, depending on the region you are in.
