Honor 5c with Kirin 650 SoC to Launch in Malaysia this Month

Huawei‘s sub-brand Honor launched the mid-range Honor 5C in April in China. It is priced at just 899 Yuan and comes with decent specifications. According to the Honor Malaysia’s Facebook post, the Honor 5C will be launched in the country in the next few days. The device sports an Aluminum build body and will be priced at MYR 799 while the Honor 5X with few better specifications costs MYR 899. It comes with a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution.
Under the hood, the Honor 5C will be powered by the all new Kirin 650 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. This new chipset is built on 16nm architecture same as the Snapdragon 820, Exynos 8890 and even the Kirin 950 SoC itself. It includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. The device also features fingerprint sensor 2.0 placed on the rear. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based customized EMUI 4.1 overlaid.
Talking about the camera, there is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera with wide-angle lens. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery which the company claims to give 19 hours of talk time and lasts upto 610 hours on standby. The Honor 5C includes dual SIM slots and offers 4G LTE along with VoLTE. It measures 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3 mm and weighs about 156 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
The device will be available in Gray and Silver color options. Yesterday the company also unveiled even cheaper Honor 5A that sports polycarbonate body. It comes with a larger 5.5-inch display but with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and is powered by Kirin 620 octa-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It has same 2GB RAM and 16GB storage as Honor 5C. The Honor 5A also the same 13MP + 8MP camera setup as on Honor 5C, but misses the fingerprint sensor.
It includes a slightly larger 3,100mAh battery and offers basic connectivity options including 4G LTE with VoLTE support. The Honor 5A is priced at 699 Yuan and will be available from June 17th in China. While there is no information about the launch of Honor 5A in India, the Honor 5C will soon enter the Indian market.
