During Google I/O 2019 held last month in California, Google launched the mid-range Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones. Unlike the other Pixel devices, the latest Android Q Beta update is not yet made available for the new Pixel 3a smartphones. However, the company now released the first ever OTA update for the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. Both the devices are now receiving the latest Android security patch update for the month of June.
Even though the devices were launched just last month, they came with the March security patch update. Google now skipped security patch updates for April and May and directly released the June security patch update. Also, the new Pixel smartphones are now finally made eligible for the Android Q Beta. The new Pixel users can get their hands on the latest version of Android. However, we don’t suggest to try it out if the Pixel 3a or Pixel 3a XL is your primary smartphone.
Talking about the security patch update, the company hasn’t revealed much details. As usual, the update is mentioned to fix bugs and improve performance and stability. Apart from the Pixels, the Essential Phone is the only third-party smartphone to get the June security patch update. If you are eager to try the latest version of Android, all the smartphones mentioned in this list are also eligible for testing the latest Android Q Beta.
The Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are currently retailing for Rs 39,999 and Rs 44,999 respectively. While the Pixel 3a sports 5.6-inch AMOLED display, the Pixel 3a XL comes with a 6.0-inch AMOLED display. Both the devices come powered by Snapdragon 670 Mobile Platform coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the Pixel 3a smartphones sport a 12.2MP camera on the rear with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture.
