A few weeks back, we have seen Google adding speed limits in its navigation and also started to show speed traps and accidents but was limited for a few regions. Now the same is getting global and the Google Map users around the globe will be getting this update. The users will now be getting an icon in the Maps and this can be used to report speed traps and accidents in your way as we have seen in Waze.
The users will now be able to report to speed traps as well as accidents so that it will be helping Map users. This feature from Google has been in testing from a few months now and from past few weeks, the feature is being rolled out to a wider region. This will definitely help other travelers to know about the routs and if there are any accidents, they can reroute which can save them time instead of getting stuck until the traffic clears.
Waze works similar to this that also reports features like road closure, gas prices, map chatting and for hazards also. Furthermore, when you report for a speed trap the next time when you pass by the same route again, Google will be asking if the speed trap is still there. I know this could be a little annoying but Google might be having other plans for it. Do you like using Google Maps or Waze?
