Google Areo App for Food Delivery & Home Services launched in India

The Search Engine giant, Google is has been focusing more on launching apps lately, pushing their services. The company launched the new Google Allo as well as Duo recently which are mainly communication-based apps for messaging and video calling, etc. Now, the company has launched a new app here in India called Google Areo. This was rather a quiet launch from the company since we didn’t see any announcement from the company. The app just popped up on the Play Store in India. Judging by the looks of it, it seems to be offering a lot of home services for the Indian market.
This new app Areo lets users search for nearby restaurants and services like electrician, plumbers, painters, etc. and schedule a delivery or an appointment all through the app. You can also find customer reviews in the apps for all the local eateries and services to help people understand the quality of the service. This app is certainly not the first of its kind since we already have services like this. But having food delivery and other services like plumbing, etc. under one roof, makes up for a relatively unified experience.

As of now the app is only live in two cities in India, i.e. Bengaluru and Mumbai. Also, the app is only available on Android as of now. This makes us believe that the service is still in early stages of testing and it might be a while until we see more cities being added as well as the service rolling out globally. Considering the fact that Google has now stepped into an already crowded space with a ton of services present already.
It would be interesting to see the company taking this app to global markets i.e. outside India as well. Having said that, we would love to hear your thoughts on this. Would you be interested in using this app or would you rather stick to other existing services in the market already?
