Samsung officially announced a new 2-in-1 tablet in the market called as “Galaxy TabPro S Gold Edition.” It is an upgraded variant of the Galaxy TabPro S that was first unveiled at the CES 2016. The latest Windows 10 is optimized to use with touch interface along with keyboard and mouse. By using the bundled keyboard cover, the user can also use it as a laptop, but the major disappointment is that there will be no USB or HDMI ports on this 2-in-1 tablet. Samsung is offering “multiport accessory” that brings the additional connectivity options which are missing on the tablet. This new Gold color variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage instead of 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD storage as seen on the earlier launched variant of Galaxy TabPro S.

It will be available starting from October 14th in the U.S with a price tag of $1000. The earlier launched Galaxy TabPro S with 4GB RAM is now retailing at $800 instead of the launch price of $900. The stylus which Samsung calls the “Galaxy TabPro Pen” should be purchased separately for $80. It sports a 12-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1440 pixels) resolution Super AMOLED display. It is powered by the 6th-gen Intel Core M3 Processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The tablet runs on the Windows 10 Home Edition and is backed by a whopping 5,200mAh battery that is mentioned to give 10.5 hours of video playback. This huge battery can be fully charged in 2.5 hours using the Samsung adaptive charging technology and USB 3.1 Type-C port.

On the camera front, there is a 5MP autofocus rear camera while the front is a 5MP fixed focus camera. More than capturing images, the cameras on this device can be used for video conferencing or Skype calls. There is no SIM card slot on this device but comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1. This announcement comes just after the production of the Galaxy Note 7 was halted. The Galaxy Note 7 users in the U.S will be offered $100 while purchasing the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge. While in India, where the Galaxy Note 7 hasn’t yet launched, Samsung is offering several benefits if they still stick with Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
