The Gionee Marathon M5 that was first launched in China way back in June along with the Elife E8. While the Elife E8 was launched in India in October, the Marathon M5 was officially launched in the Indian market last week. The device sports a massive 6,020mAh capacity of dual batteries each with 3,010mAh capacity. Even with a such a large battery it measures just 8.5mm thick and weighing 214 grams.
All in a sudden, the company has sent out the invites for the launch of Marathon M5 Plus on December 21st in Dongguan, China. Apart from the name, there is no information regarding the device. Recently the company had officially launched the Gionee S6 that was exclusively reported by us. We can expect minor upgrades from the Marathon M5 but not the increased battery capacity.
The Marathon M5 came with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution while the M5 Plus can be expected to launch with 1080p resolution display. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. In China. the company launched both the 2GB variant with 16GB built-in storage and 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of internal storage. Stay tuned for more updates!
