Gionee to Launch Stylish Smartphones under F Series in India

Gionee a Chinese Smartphone Manufacturer which has a strong presence in the Offline markets in India has now ventured into a new category with focus being on stylish designs. Earlier the brand which had launched smartphones under the different series has now announced the F series with the first Smartphone being F103. If you have followed this brand you would have seen devices under E Series [Elife E8], S Series [Elife S5.1] & Pioneer Series [Pioneer P6].

The brand is betting big in India with a recent announcement of Manufacturing Phones in India with a total investment of $50 Million (Rs. 318 crores) in the next three years.

We asked Gionee a few questions about this new series & here are the answers for the same.

What is the differentiation with this new line – up from Gionee?
Consumers in today’s world are not only looking for phones with great performance, but they also expect a great style quotient when it comes to select a phone.

F series as a series will be giving the consumers a perfect blend of style and performance. Like any old gionee series, it will be focusing on great consumer experience but there will be a lot of OOMPH factor which will be there due to the design of the devices

How many devices do you plan to launch under this new category within the next 6 months?
F103 is the first phone in this series and there will be more devices which will follow this

How are the devices different from the S Series which were also similar in looks & also slimmer?
S series also has a great design language but it is primarily driven by the slimness but F series Slimness is not the only thing it is way the device looks.

What is the value proposition to the buyers if they are planning to buy the recently launched F103 Smartphone?
Consumers who are driven by style or design of the phone but they also are looking at great performance.

Does Gionee have any plans to manufacture phones in India & if yes from when & which models would you start with?
As we have earlier said India is the second home market to Gionee after China and we are committed to “Make in India”. Work is on and we will be sharing the progress as it happens

Will this series or any future series be Online exclusive only?
As this year we are doing our channel expansion and online will be a part of that. We are evaluating all the options available in the online space If it comes across that exclusive models add value to the consumer we may launch them on the online platform.
