Gionee F103 gets 1GB & 3GB RAM variants from INR 8,499 in India

Update: Nov 06, 20156 – Gionee today launched two more new variants of the Gionee F103 in the Indian smartphone market. While there aren’t many changes in the specifications and design of the device, the new devices come with different amounts of RAM. The original variant of  F103 came with 2GB of RAM, and the new variants of the F103 come with 1GB and 3GB of RAM. The other specifications of the all the three variants remain same.

The 1GB variant is priced at Rs. 8,499 and while the 3GB RAM variant costs you Rs.10,999. According to the company, it had sold almost 2,16,700 units of F103 in just two months after launching the device on September 1st. The device runs on Amigo 3.0 UI based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Earlier: Oct 12, 2015 – Gionee had officially announced its first ‘Make in India’ smartphone F103, this the same device that was launched in September. The device will be assembled at the Foxconn’s Sri City plant in Andhra Pradesh. According to the company, the device that are assembled in India will also be shipped to the other South Asian and African countries. Recently, the company launched it’s latest flagship Elife E8 at an event held in New Delhi. It is priced at Rs.34,999 will be available exclusively through Snapdeal.

Commenting on the announcement, William Lu, President, Gionee said “We are very excited to have begun out india manufacturing. We are very excited to havebegun out India manufacturing. We would be working tpwards making India manufacturing a hub for not only India, but nearly countries too.”

Gionee F103 1GB RAM

Earlier: Sep 1, 2015 – The Gionee has been very active in launching the devices in 2015, at least in its home country China. We have seen a Gionee device in every price range. Now we have a new F-series for the Fashion-centric smartphones and the first device launched in this series is the Gionee F103, it comes with a low price tag but sports a great build quality. The company today launched this device in India for Rs.9,999.

According to the company’s portfolio, the device under the Elife ‘E-series’ are the flagship devices while the ‘Elife S-series’ comes with a sleek design and the Marathon devices have massive battery capacities. Now the devices under this new F-series will sport a premium design with a metal build.

Mr. Timir Baran Acharyya, GM, Gionee India said, “Design along with features has become an essential element for consumers when they buy the phone. With our F series we have achieved to get both design and performance in one device and consumers gets the best from both the worlds. F103 is a power packed device a great design which not only gives great performance but also adds the style quotient to the consumer who carries it out.”

Coming to the device specifications, It sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720) display with very thin bezels. It comes powered by the MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The device has 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage out of which only 11.28GB will be available for the end user and there is also a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.

On the camera front, it sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The device has a 2,400mAh removable polymer Li-ion battery that gives 30 hours of talk time and lasts up to 480 hours on standby. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based Amigo 3.0 UI. Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port.

As per our source, the company will launch the second device in this new F-series called as Gionee F303 in India soon, and we expect it to be priced around Rs.7,000. Earlier to this, Gionee launched Marathon M4 in India for Rs.15,499 with a whopping battery of 5,000mAh capacity same as on the previous years Marathon M3.

There is a smaller 4-inch device with entry level specifications called Pioneer P2M priced at Rs.6,999. It has a battery of 3,000mAh and runs on latest Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. We will let you know more about the device once it’s officially unveiled launched
