The Gionee Elife E8 which is announced in China four months ago is now finally getting ready to launch in India. The new flagship smartphone comes with one of the highest resolution cameras for an Android phone, and it rocks a 2K display under a large 6-inch screen. As per our trusted sources, the device will officially launch in India on October 8th.
The company has recently announced its partnership with Foxconn and Dixon technologies to manufacture smartphones in India. As of now there are no import details of the smartphone on the Zuaba listing which hints that this smartphone is going to be manufactured in India.
The E8 comes with a Quad HD 6-inch display, and under the hood will be a Mediatek MT6795 processor (or Helio X10, what it is called in Asian market), an octa-core chipset clocking at 2GHz, and it comes with a 64-bit architecture. This is supported by PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
While on the back is a 24-megapixel camera, and on the front is an 8MP shooter for selfies, probably the same one that was given in the Elife E7, with autofocus. The camera is capable of recording 4K videos, and take 120MP shots by stitching pictures. It is a 6P lens made with Sapphire glass protection, and it comes with a true-tone dual flash. The camera has Optical image stabilization, Real-time HDR, and a real time Auto scene recognition.
A 3500 mAh battery is packed in, and the Elife E8 has a fingerprint scanner on the back. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo 3.1 OS, and 64GB of internal storage is provided. Along with that, is a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. For the sound, there is Hi-Fi level and DTS sound support, along with Dual smart PA for the two speakers under the same grill on the back.
There is no information regarding the pricing of the Elife E8, but in China it is priced at 3999 RMB which converts to Rs. 41000 (approx). Apart from the E8 launch, we can expect them to launch their sub-brand ‘IUNI’ which will be available only through online sales. The company is also expected to announce their exclusive e-store to sell their devices and accessories. Stay tuned for more information since the scheduled launch event is just five days away.
