General Mobile GM 5 Smartphone to be Launched as 1st Nougat powered Android One Phone

We have seen Android One Smartphones earlier but later removed the Android One section from the Official Android website. Google has experimented with the Android project, and we are expecting General Mobile GM 5 smartphone to be launched with Android Nougat and this Android One device has been listed on the Companies official website. This device will be available in Gold, Black and Space Grey color options.

General Mobile GM 5 comes with a 5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolutions with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. Under the hood, there is a 64-bit quad-core processor with a clocking speed of 1.2 GHz. On the rear, there is a 13MP camera with Dual LED flash that comes with features like 4x Digital Zoom and Autofocus. On the front, there is a 5MP camera for video calling and selfies.

The handset supports 4G connectivity and works on bandwidth like GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz. The SAR value of the device is 0.288 W/KG and comes with connectivity options like Bluetooth v4.0, A2DP, GPS, A-GPS, Wireless Network connection 802.11 b/g/n, Hotspot, Wifi Direct and 3.5mm audio jack. The first devices to receive the update are the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X which and followed by other Google-powered devices.


The GM 5 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and will be powered by a 2500 mAh battery on the back. There are sensors like Motion Sensor (G-sensor), Accelerometer, Magnetic sensor, Proximity sensor, and Light sensor. There are few pre-installed applications like Clock, World Clock, Alarm Clock, Chronometer, Countdown Timer, Vibrating Alert, and Caller ID.

The handset supports languages like Afrikaans, , Greek, Hindi , Amharic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (PRC,HK,TW), Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Finnish, French (CA,FR), German, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (BR,PT), Romanian, Russia, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Danish, Dutch, English (AU, GB, US), Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Türkçe, Ukranian, Zulu, Filipino and Thai.

The device will be announced later in this month, and we do not have any information regarding the availability and pricing option of the General Mobile GM 5. Few months ago we have seen Sharp launching its Aquos 507SH which was the first waterproof Android One smartphone. What do you think about this handset?
