Garmin has launched their new smartwatch, the Forerunner 225 in India. The satellite navigation manufacturer has presence in Indian wearables market for quite time now. But hasn’t quite performed well. The enthusiasts in the country are more interested in fitness band offering. The Smartwatch fever is yet to commence, but with the Forerunner 225 company hopes to change that.
The latest offering from Garmin in the country is priced at Rs 26,500. The device is first GPS watch by manufacturer. Originally launched in June this year, the 225 model in the Forerunner series is not a new smartwatch. It might be little late to the wearable party, but have great features to offer for the pricing.
The 225 have a built-in accelerometer that records distance travelled in indoors. You can track the pace with which you have travelled over the day. Can be coined as an athlete’s smartwatch, the wearable will track your real-time heart rate, steps were taken, as well as the calories you’ve burned all day.
The device is connected with company’s Garmin Connect feature, where you would get live tracking and social media sharing, which will notify your friends. It acts a competitive platform as well. It weighs just 54g, which makes it light on your wrist.
Company claims that it can give up to four weeks of battery life on watch mode while up to 10 hours in GPS mode with Heart rate sensor ON. All thanks to the efficient display, this is a 1-inch size screen offering a 180 x 180 pixel resolution.
You can access 200 hours of data, which would be stored on the smartwatch. The 225 model has a 5 ATM listing, which wear the watch even while swimming and water rafting.
