Samsung has finally decided to put an end to the wait by announcing the official dates for the availability of the replacement units of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. In an official statement, Samsung confirmed that the new Note 7 replacement units would arrive in the US, no later than September 21st. These units will be available in most retail stores and consumers will be able to purchase them or replace the existing ones. So if you are in the US and are looking for a replacement, then mark your calendars for next week.
If you are still using one, then it is advised that you immediately power down your device and refrain from using it till September 21st. The company officially stated that they are asking owners to act now by powering down their Note7 devices and receive a replacement device or a complete refund through their exchange program. According to this exchange program, customers in the US who have purchased the Galaxy Note 7 before September 15th are given three choices. You can either exchange your current Note 7 to a new one when the replacement units arrive.
If not, then you can exchange the Note 7 & specific accessories with a Galaxy S7 or the S7 Edge and get a refund of the price difference between the two. Alternatively, if you don’t a Samsung device, then you can choose to get a complete refund as well. And not just this, the company also announced that customers who exchange the Note 7 smartphones for any other Samsung product would also receive a $25 gift card with in-store credit, in-store accessory credit or bill credit from any retail outlet. We don’t have any official info about the availability of the replacement units in India as of now.
