Energizer P18K Smartphone with 18,000mAh Battery Listed on Indiegogo
At the MWC 2019, we covered about the Energizer Power Max P18K Pop smartphone which is basically a powerbank with smartphone features. The device packs a humongous 18,000mAh battery and measures 22mm in thickness. It is now listed on Indiegogo with a goal of USD 1,200,000. However, there is no Energizer branding and it was listed by France-based Avenir Telecom.
Interestingly, the Indiegogo listing mentioned the P18K smartphone to be easier and lighter compared to a regular smartphone and a 10,000mAh power bank. With just 1 backer till now, we don’t think the smartphone will be achieving its goal. The early bird price for this device is set at USD 549 (approx INR 38,000) and will be shipping from October 2019.
Later, the Helio P70-powered smartphone is said to retail for USD 699 (approx INR 48,000). While it grabbed everyone’s eyeballs at the recently concluded MWC, we don’t think this smartphone will be the choice for any potential customers. Talking about the device, it is the world’s first smartphone to sport dual pop-up selfie cameras. There is also a 12MP + 5MP + 2MP triple camera setup on the rear.
With the 18,000mAh battery, the device is said to give up to 90 hours of talk time and lasts up to 50 days in standby mode. The device can also be used for charging other devices using the OTG cable. On the front, it sports 6.2-inch bezel-less display with Full HD+ resolution. Even with its huge size, the company couldn’t find any space to add a 3.5mm audio jack on this device.
