How To Get Apple News App Worldwide & Setup / Manage Feeds

Heard about the Apple News App which is available on the iOS 9 devices? According to Apple’s VP of product marketing, this new App would help you get news on a personalised digital magazine though the looks are quite similar to Flipboard. It is currently limited to the U.S. & many iPhone / iPad users are looking forward to try it out. In this tutorial we are going to tell you how you could not only download it onto your device with jailbreaking & how you could customise it.

To get started you need to ensure you have installed the iOS9 update on your Apple device. Next you need to check if your device already has the ‘News’ app on it or not. If you still find the ‘Newstand’ application, then its time to hit the settings. Under Settings, tap on General, next tap on Language & Region. Here you need to select the Region as ‘United States’ though for a temporary period till the application is installed.

Once you have changed the region, reboot your device & within moments you would find the new ‘News’ app on home screen. Tap on this & you would be shown with the customization section with a list of few publications & magazines on which you need to tap to proceed.

If you do not like any of the listed options, you can scroll down, following which the News app would fetch more results & showcase them to you. Tap on Continue & you would be asked to Signup or Skip. Depending on your preference proceed & the News would be prepared where the content would be fetched from the earlier selected or favorited publications rss feed.

Next you would be welcomed to the main Interface with the headline being “For You” with the latest news from all the feeds selected earlier. All the content is organised in a two column format & tapping on favourites would showcase you all the list of brands you are following. If you wish to unfollow or remove some publication from this list, tap on the edit option on the Top right & next you can tap on the X button to remove.

Next the Explore tab should be your favourite destination on the application because it helps you find more sources under Suggested Channels based on earlier selections. Here you can find all the Apple approved Channels or Topics which are broad categories under which the mediums are listed.

If you are a publication, you can submit your RSS Feed to Apple for an approval to get your content listed on this application. Do make a note that you can search for any publication or news through the search box and visit the same, while saving the same to your account & reaccess it through the “saved” tab.
