Best Upcoming Smartphones of August 2016 – Expected Specs & Features
In the next few weeks, we will be seeing some high-end devices from the top smartphone manufacturers. A couple of the devices that are already launched earlier may be available in few selected markets in this month. Though we know the specifications of most of these devices, we need to wait for the official launch for the confirmation of those details and also for the pricing. There are also a couple of devices that rumored to launch in a month or two, so stay tuned on PhoneRadar for further updates about the devices.
Upcoming iPhones running on latest iOS10 will be unveiled in September. Though we are expecting Apple to launch iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, there are also rumors about a third device called iPhone Pro. While LeEco became the first smartphone manufacturer to skip the 3.5mm audio port, Apple might bring in some interesting feature in exchange of regular audio port. As per the rumors, Apple has skipped the audio port in order to make the upcoming iPhones slimmer.
The devices will be powered by the all new Apple A10 processor and the minimum storage in these devices is expected to be 32GB instead of 16GB. The rear of the device will be more clearer with the antenna bands moved to the top and bottom edges. While many Android devices are upcoming with dual rear cameras, iPhone 7 Pro will be the first device from Apple to feature the same dual rear camera setup. Apple also announced to sold one billion iPhones in 9 years.
Xiaomi had been aggressive with the smartphone launches in 2016 after missing the revised sales targets. The company quite a few popular smartphones in the first half of this year including the Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3, Mi 5, and Mi Max. Earlier this year, Xiaomi CEO also confirmed to launch five more smartphones in the second half, Recently the company had launched its expensive Redmi smartphone, Redmi Pro in China. The base variant is priced at 1499 Yuan and reaches upto 1999 Yuan.
Now the latest leaks suggest the Mi Note 2, the successor for 2015 launched Mi Note to launch in August. Unlike earlier Xiaomi devices, the Mi Note 2 might come with a premium price tag. If the rumors are to be believed, it comes with a curved AMOLED display and might be featuring the Snapdragon 821 SoC. It might be the first Xiaomi smartphone to include 6GB of RAM. While the current flagship, Mi 5 sports glass on the back, the Mi Note 2 will be feature an all metal body.
Unlike the earlier mentioned smartphones, we knew important specifications about the Galaxy Note 7 except its pricing. Instead of the Galaxy Note 6, Samsung named the device as the Galaxy Note 7. While there are rumors about the device featuring 6GB of RAM, the leaks suggest the device to come with just 4GB of RAM. The device will be IP68 certified just like Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge making it waterproof and dustproof.
It will be the first device in the Galaxy Note series to sport dual edge Quad HD display. The Galaxy Note 7 also features IRIS scanner and USB Type-C port. It will be officially launched on August 2nd in New York. The cameras on this device are said to be the same sensors that are present on Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge. The device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box with the latest TouchWiz UI on top. We could also see improved S-pen and edge features.
Last year’s LG V10 is the first device in the all-new V series; now the company is said to come up with a successor called LG V20. The secondary ticker display that was present on LG V10 might also present on this new device. Though the LG V10 sale is limited to selected markets, it had received some sort of popularity against the like of Apple and Samsung devices. The company also officially announced to launch its nets smartphone in the V-series in the coming months.
We expect it to be launched at the IFA 2016 in September. Though LG G5 came with innovative features, the actual number of sales are way behind the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. But we expect the LG V20 to come in the same form factor and might include the latest Snapdragon 821 chipset and 4GB of RAM. Samsung will be integrating the IRIS scanner into its Galaxy Note 7 and LG might feature the same sensor in the LG V20.
